About the painting
Forgiving... Letting go of past griefs... Moving on with one's life...
Sometimes we hold onto past grief because we believe that by doing so we’ll avoid going through the painful experiences that created that feeling in the first place again. But what we actually do in those cases is that we keep that memory, wound and pattern active within ourselves and our energy field which in turn tends to attract to us situations that are similar to the original event we are trying to avoid. Thus recreating and anchoring that memory, wound and pattern over and over again until we can finally release that pain, move on with our life and draw to us situations, people and events that are more in alignment with ourselves and our true desires and in resonance with the “new me” rather than the “old me”.
Sometimes this grief is buried within our subconscious/ unconscious mind, and so we are not even aware that we are holding onto that grief anymore as we’ve become so used to it. Many times, in this case, it is originating from our childhood and our holding onto it was meant as a way of survival, especially if it was not ok to express or feel that grief at the time the event happened or if the adults that surrounded us did not know how to handle that pain and grief and how to help us process it in a healthy way.
